Care Instructions
Amber care instructions
In order to keep your amber shiny, do not expose it to impacts, soaps, lotions, perfumes, hairsprays, deodorants etc. We recommend removing your amber piece before bathing or washing your hands. Gentle cleaning should be done with a soft brush or shammy/chamois leather cloth. The special cloth can be bought in House of Amber’s shops globally.
Silver care instructions
In order to keep your silver shiny, do not expose it to chemicals such as those found in cosmetics, hairsprays and perfumes. Do not wear your silver piece while bathing, doing the dishes or using cleaning chemicals. If the silver tarnishes, polish it with a silver polishing cloth, which is impregnated with an anti-tarnish agent. Do not wash the cloth. The special cloth can be bought in House of Amber’s shops globally.
Gold care instructions
We recommend that you polish your gold jewellery with a soft polishing cloth. Do not expose it to chemicals and remove it while bathing.
Plated jewellery care instructions
Plated jewellery is a piece of jewellery that is made from a metal such as brass or silver and then covered with a thin layer of precious metal, usually gold or rhodium. In the course of time all platings will naturally wear off so in order to keep the plating beautiful for as long as possible, we recommend that you do not expose the jewellery to alcohol such as perfume, hairspray etc. We also recommend that you store separately from other jewellery as the plating can come off when rubbing against other jewellery. Clean with water. Please note that the natural wear and tear off the plating is NOT covered by our general guarantee.
Handling amber ships and artefacts
When packing your amber artefact we strive to make sure there are no empty spaces and that the fragile items inside cannot move or shift. If you wish to transport the artefact yourself and in order to avoid breakage, the artefact needs to be handled with extra care. This includes unpacking the item. We recommend transporting as fragile cargo or hand carrying.
Amber jewellery safety for children under three yrs
We recommend that you polish your gold jewellery with a soft polishing cloth. Do not expose it to chemicals and remove it while bathing. Amber jewellery for children under three (3) years old should be worn always supervised by an adult to prevent a possible choking hazard.
